Tea At The Caledonian Hotel For Eleanor's Birthday
Yesterday was my 8th birthday. We went to Afternoon Tea at the Caledonian Hotel In Edinburgh. We saw two rainbows on the drive there!
The tea was so fun! They had a cake with my name on it for me, and also a birthday balloon and a teddy bear! On the walls there were pretty birds with big fat feathers on their backs, like peacocks. I liked the huge chandelier in the stairway. It was hanging from a red velvet rope.
Our table looked out a big curved window at Edinburgh Castle. I had nettle tea. It poured out green, and then when I put lemon in it, it turned pink. My favorite sandwich was the cucumber.

I'd love to have tea with you overlooking Edinburg Castle!! What a fantastic way to spend your birthday! I'll bet all your friends wish they could have high tea at the Caledonian! I love you as much at 8 as I did at 7. Bunches!
Happy Birthday, Sweet Eleanor! Looks like you had an amazing afternoon tea.

Wow E, I can't believe you're 8!! You're growing up so beautifully.
I'm happy that you had such a lovely birthday. Rainbows are really special. I think that was a cool blessing for your special day.

Pink Tea?!?! How cool!! It looks like an elegant setting for your special day. I'm glad you had a nice time. I really dig your red shoes. Slainte!
Happy Birthday Eleanor, we sent you an email in the middle of the night for you on the day. Hope you got it. Both kids look soooo big in this picture. Owen looks so much like you Brenna and Eleanor just looks amazingly grown up. It breaks my heart to see the changes in such a short time. Reminds me that they are always happening in our own families too, we just don't notice them as much. Billie would love to skype Eleanor. I will get your info from Gerry.
Wish we could have been at tea with you. Love, Maggie
What a very fancy birthday celebration, Eleanor! Plus you got Magical Color Changing Tea, which is even more special. I think I already know the answer to this question, but are you still celebrating? You know, there are SOME people who believe you can stretch your birthday celebration out a few days, especially if there's a weekend close by...
I hope 8 is even more wonderful for you than 7 was!
