I'd Like A Label Please: Defining Our Travel Style

I'm someone who likes a good label. Not like designer clothes, but the kind of labels we hang on ourselves. They keep me cozy and safe feeling. My labels are fleece lined and wind resistant. At work I was a Sound Supervisor. It defined me -- at work anyway. Lately, I've been feeling label-less. My psyche's getting a little chilly. So, today at breakfast, I asked Brenna, "What are we now?"

We are absolutely Tourists, but it goes beyond that. The vision of a solid clump of 57 retirees exiting a bus and filing into a museum at a predetermined time to see a predetermined number of pieces of art doesn't fit our current style of travel. I've done big bus tourist travel and you absolutely see a lot -- you just don't necessarily experience a lot.

Kindle tour at a Vienna CafeBefore we left we had bookshelves in every room of our house on nearly every wall. If you came to our Cocktail Tag Sale, you probably left with a stack of books. 10.5 Awesome Things For Slow Travelers to Drag With Them

Hello All!!  We're just settling in to Bamberg, Germany after a week on the Romantic Road.  We'll post more soon on our new digs.  In the meantime - enjoy this un-paid commercial message:

This is the blog post where we shamelessly plug some of the items for sale in our Amazon Store. But, we didn't put them in the store just because we hoped to make a nickel from the sale, we put them there because they're things we're using right now on our Slow Travel Trek (or very similar to the ones we have) and think that others might find them useful too while traveling.
