The Suitcase Knows the Way
I ponder a lot. I ponder where a worn dollar bill (or Euro or Zloty now) has been before I receive it from the cashier and where it goes after I spend it. I ponder where the clothes that I give to Goodwill will end up. And some moments I ponder what in the hell we're doing -- but those moments pass quickly.
I bought one of our suitcases at the Goodwill Store before we left Los Angeles, and inside I found the name of the previous owner on the luggage tag (and 40 cents.) I wondered who Robin Robb was and where she'd been with my new suitcase. In borderline stalker fashion I tracked her down (in about 30 seconds) on Google and found that she is a photographer. I emailed her last week to ask if it would be okay to post this blog and she replied with this, "Glad to know you got my suitcase and it will be in good hands. That suitcase has been a lot of places. Ireland, England, New York, Chicago, Arizona, Florida, Texas, Mexico and Canada. Maybe a few other places as well, can't recall all of them now."
How cool -- our suitcase has been to places that we haven't yet. Maybe if we get lost we can ask it the way.

All that pondering! I knew this had to be your post, Bob. You've pondered since you were a little boy (I think pondering contributed to your ulcer when you were in Kindergarten). XOXO
Short but great post nonetheless. I'm pretty sure somewhere, someone might have said, "Pondering is good for the soul."
Looking forward to seeing where your travels take you next.
A interesting suitcase story.
I have a suitcase that has been to places I haven't, my suitcase has been to Cairo and Luxor!
Unfortunately it was supposed to be going with me to Barcelona!
Thank you BA!

Way to Ponder!
When we moved out of our house in May, we found a children's book called "Broken Arrow," previously owned by little Johnny Thorpe and dated 1958. Johnny is the son of the original owner who built the bunk bed & drawers behind which the book lay hidden for decades. I have his sister's address and I have considered trying to contact him to see if he wants his book back. Part of me wants to keep it, an artifact that connects me with a moment in time before I was born, with a little boy that no longer exists.
You crack me up Roberto! I'm all smiles.
Kisses to your family
What a great ride for you guys so far!...It makes me remember what is important. I read the church story 3 times. Beautifully sad. (whatever that means) I love everything about going to church. Keep up the search...Love, TH
That's a great post Bob!
