What Did Red Do In Germany?

We get behind with some of the posts of the wonderful people we've met and interesting things we've seen as we travel (and instead spend our time writing about oatmeal). Today is a tardy post about a friend we met in Nuremburg, Germany. His name is Joachim Torbahn. When we talked with Joachim about his work, he said, "I'm a puppeteer... and a painter." He explained (and I went to his website to learn more) that what he does is performance art. Some of the shows are puppet theater other times a live performance set to music creating a painting. Unfortunately we didn't get to see Joachim's show live, but he gave us a DVD of "What Does Red Do On Thursday?" which we've watched a couple times.  It's a wonderful glimpse into the process of painting -- or really any creative endeavor. The kids both gave it thumbs up, actually they said, "It was really cool." Here's a small clip of the performance.

Very cool.
If you bump into him again, tell him I say "hey".
