I May Very Well Regret This...

I don't know if any of you who don't actually know me care. Actually I don't know how many of you who DO know me care... but I'm coloring my hair in a few days. True to my nature, I'm going for something different. Even the "lost in translation" fear (how do you say "No cool tones!" in German?), and an unknown hairdressers skills, don't seem to be able to sway me from a Big Hair Change. I'm going chocolate brown. Deep, dark, (hopefully glossy) chocolate brown. I imagine that this is a bit tricky to do. My hair is naturally blond, and I hi-light it blonder. Will the brown stick? Will it be dull and icky? Will I look like a vampire?

I tried to find a picture of the brown I want, so you could see what I have in mind.  Why aren't there pics on the web of "women with fair skin and brown hair" who are in their 40's, with slightly ruddy skin and crows feet, and maybe who are also a bit sleep-deprived???  All that I could find was Zooey Deschanel and Natalie Portman, and frankly - that just didn't help my optimism level much at all.

In spite of all of this, on Wednesday at 9:00am I have an appointment at the salon across the street. Ill let you know how it goes...

Here's me Before.  Hell - if it doesn't work I can always just cut it all off and wear hats.  Winter is on it's way...

Wow .. amazing that THIS post generated the most comments that I've seen to date! Funny how we react to the personal matters of others! WE SUCK, YOU ROCK!

I say this; Hot is hot, no matter what the hair color ... You've been living (thriving) with the "GO BIG OR GO HOME" mentality, and we're ALL envious! Nevermind what anyone else says .. The Redpath's are my heroes. PERIOD! Party On Wayne!

LOVE you guys .. and thanks for sharing.

Heh - I knew I should have commented last night when I read this. It's in your "voice" already - the decision, seems to me, has already been made.

Now about the: "women with fair skin and brown hair" who are in their 40's, with slightly ruddy skin and crows feet, and maybe who are also a bit sleep-deprived??? I think you just described me since I'm now 40 and may have just seen a crows foot. And am a lot sleep deprived. (Alas, not for the exciting reasons you are.) My color has been working out well for me for nearly always, but I'll reiterate the earlier advice to be prepared to change some things like makeup, lipstick specifically, and clothing shades. You get used to something, and this changes things you don't expect! I had to learn this lesson when I went a little too far with the red highlights last year.

Lucky thing you've found a hot vintage clothing store in Germany, eh? Can't wait to see the new look!

I just logged on and found out Brenna's gonna do WHAT?!?

tomorrow is the BIG day!! After all the comments, will brenna still go through with it? Will she like it or hate it? I'm sure tonight's sleep will be restless. Probably stewing over it now. I've never seen the resemblance btw you & your sis till i examined the coffee shop photo (with stealth money wrist band). Then i pictured that photo with brown hair (not that your roots were showing too much) and it's gonna be like two peas in a pod. Can't wait to see the outcome!!
