Merry Christmas from Scotland... and Southern California
Our friend Iris came to visit for Christmas and we couldn't be happier -- especially since she came with gifts from SoCal. We haven't had Herdez or Cholula for months! Tomorrow we'll be making Boxing Day Nachos with Scottish cheddar... And, when she offered to be our importer of American junk food, the kids asked for Cheez-Its and Trader Joes's Peppermint Joe Joes. Of course we took her to the Gluhwein hut at the Edinburgh Christmas Festival and then we hung the Wellie liners on the radiator with care. Here's a little montage of our Christmas with Iris. We hope you are having a wonderful day, full of Christmas Cheer!

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL OF YOU!!!!
How wonderful to get American junk food, nobody does junk food as well as the good ole USA. I am working on a traditional southern Christmas dinner and while I cook I am thinking of all the great Christmases this family has had. Wonderful memories.
I am sure that Owen and Ella will remember this one as one of the highlights of their lives.
The four of you and Clay's family are having a white Christmas, the rest of us are stuck with rain.
The photo of the boot liners is priceless and I always enjoy seeing pictures of all the family, especially Ella and Owen.
Take care and Merry Christmas from north Georgia.
Love to all,
Happy Christmas guys. We are in Germany (Stuttgart) with Daisy. Was snowing when we first got here but now just cold and sometimes a tad rainy. Have been in Christmas Market overload and certainly the Gluhwein has helped!!. Spent the afternoon at the ballet watching Daisy. Was very moving for us to watch. Head to London on Sunday for a few days before returning to LA. Happy New Year to you all . Although I've not posted much I've kept up with the blogs and Erin fills me in on what I miss.
Chris
Hope you had/are having a happy Happy!
We're having a holiday that includes Jim's brother & wife, Jennifer, visiting us from London. Jennifer is actually from Edinburgh. She reports that her nieces and nephews went "sledging" Christmas day.
So they brought mince pies (which we ate on the Solstice) and a Christmas pudding which we set afire last night and ate with melted Brandy Butter. We're now addicted to brandy butter (from scratch, of course) and have been putting it on everything! Pumpkin bread, you name it. We're floating in a bloated, alcoholic bliss.
Yes, Trader Joe's is the one-stop holiday food shop this year. I'm sure all you need to do when you develop those cravings is submit a post, complete with return address, and fate will take care of the rest!
Aloha,
Nicole.
Merry Christmas to all of you. Loving your posts!
Hi Brenna and Bob,
