Bob & Brenna Redpath

Hey everybody. This is a dual post of sorts – it’s on our blog and the facebook group: It's possible the Redpaths are crazy...wanna' live vicariously?

This journey of ours has never really been about traveling for a year.  The trip is an exciting vehicle we’ve chosen, but in the bigger picture it’s about changing our lives – granted, we've picked an extreme way to go about it.  We are fortunate enough, and smart enough, to have been saving for a rainy day for 20 years.  We have decided that this is the rain we’ve been saving for.  Some will think we’re foolish for not sitting still, and holding on to every penny we have, and they may prove to be right.  But maybe now is the time for a little unconventional thinking, the time to seek out a new way of life as the economy evolves into whatever comes next for all of us.

Our intention is to spend this year searching for people who are taking control of their lives in these uncertain times. We’ll be bringing you people from all over the world who are finding new opportunity during a time when conventional wisdom tells us to hunker down and sit still. People with enough vision to turn a bad situation into a propelling force that might not have existed for them before all hell broke loose.

A lot of the success of our venture depends on reaching people interested in following this interactive experiment in taking control of our lives, and sharing how they are taking control of their own lives as well.  In this vein -- we have a goal.  We leave on June 22, and by that date we would like to have 10,000 members on Facebook and readers of our website.  It's a huge goal, and we need your help.  Tell your friends, and tell them to tell their friends.  Let's start a world-wide dialogue of people thinking differently, choosing new paths, looking for opportunity in this messy time.  It’s big.  But in our opinion, there has never been a better time to start thinking and acting differently than right now.
